Lately I’ve been very busy with both uni and another (Danish) blogging project. I’ve missed blogging in my own language, I feel more in the right zone than in here. The blog is rather different from this one – less ‘what have I done today’, more… well, I really don’t know. Today, you can do this online. I came across this random “recommendation” without even searching for them. Oh, how they fit perfectly.

I’m at the end of the semester, dreading the three essays I have to write (I only have a week for that), plus the huge paper on trash-realism and Heroin Chic. The house needs some Spring cleaning – some organising of the mess is also much needed. I’m juggling way too many tattoo clients, trying to design something nice for each one of them while finding the time to actually tattoo it on them. I want to shoot more, I have people waiting for me to do so, but everything’s so overwhelming. It should make me happy.

I also want to get out more, now the sun’s shining. Learn a song on the guitar, sing some more, doodle, write, dance some, go to IKEA, have movie nights. I also want to go out for sushi, laugh and relax with… someone? I miss acting, being a teen, even though your problems seemed bigger than they really were; I even miss playing badminton.

Last year and the year before that, around this time, there were similar posts on Matter. I guess I’ll never change.

Today, this photo of Taylor was publiced. It was an engagement gift from her to producer Michael Todd, and was shot by fellow actor and photographer Roddy McDowall.

Sometimes photos of famous people come off as absolutely amazing solely because of its wellknown object. If this photo was shot and published today no-one would honestly give a rat’s arse. But because it’s Elizabeth T. it’s a big mo-fo deal!
This photo, per se, was a big back in the days, and was without a doubt a sexy morning gift for her husband to be. However, I doubt that this type of soft pr0n would have the same effect on today’s average male. It’s not something they’d jack off to, right?

No matter what, this photograph is absolutely stunning to me, considering it’s time and it’s personality. It was private shot, which makes it even more delicate. It doesn’t look like Taylor as the younger crowd might remember her, but it’s definitely a new way to remember her by. She was more than plastic surgery and a woman who married whoever came across. She was legendary, something extra-ordinary.

What do you think? Did she cross the line at the age of 24 to let herself photograph naked, or is this art?

//EDIT! Apparently this has turned out not to be Elizabeth Taylor, but a fairly unknown Hollywood dancer that goes by the name Lee Evans. It was originally printed in the book Classic Nude Photography, Techniques and Images that was published ten years ago in 2001.

Furthermore, as it turns out the photo was taken back in 1940 where Elizabeth Taylor was only 8 years old.

Except, I always have to google those dang dingleberries, or whatever the ladies of Facebook are status updating these days. My nosiness never fails me to wonder.

In many ways these type of initiatives do increase awareness – or the very least, speculation and curiosity. I’m very aware of breast cancer, heart diseases, how dangerous it is to be weighing more than 30 kgs, but reading about how someone likes it on the counter doesn’t make me aware of the dangers of stepping outside without an umbrella.

This photo raise awareness about how alcohol is bad for you, plus sitting infront of a fake fireplace in your flat with almost no clothes on can give you a cold. Especially when the alcohol is killing your immunesystem. Please re-post this to raise awareness about chickenpox. Please.

Private photos

Normally you wouldn’t see me walking around museums; it’s not that I find them dull, it’s more the need to be quiet for so long that is annoying. But the trip to Glyptoteket with Michelle and Cat wasn’t. At all. It turned out to very loud with a lot of laughter.I might update with the shots that Cat took of me dying from laughter in the middle of a bunch of statues.

Now I’ve got a ton of uni work to do. I’m very stressed out these days, which you can see on the blog, hence the lack of updates. I miss blogging.

I started out online on DeviantArt, which is a website full of deviants (i.e. artistic folks – that happens to be very deviant… for some reason *insert sarcasm here*).  Obviously, my deviation was photography. I never looked at myself as some kind of freak because of the fact that I was creative (I had so many other reasons to believe so), but in a way I started to feel accepted for who I was – even though I hadn’t figured out who exactly this was.

Slowly, as my photographic knowledge expanded I moved on to Myspace – as a link to spread the word about my growing “business”. Myspace is – sorry, was – known to host a lot of musicians who would love to get a hold of someone like me.

Or so I thought.

Myspace turned out to be a whole other medium of exposure than what I was used to. It was about ‘me, me, me’ and how ‘I really don’t care about you, you, you’, not just a way to get in touch. I was surprised, but I stayed for a long time. I liked to ‘pimp my profile’ with my photography. Often.

Suddenly people kept on mentioning this ‘Facebook’, whatever that was. I liked my DeviantArt and Myspace; I had no reason to interact more virtually – if friends needed to contact me they could dial my number. In my world social networking was meant to as strictly business. Besides, my ex-boyfriend who I was living with at the time Facebook started out, spend an enormous amount of time on FB. He had loser written on his forehead.

Then I joined Facebook. And deleted my Myspace profile, created a Blogspot blog (or five), later a WordPress (or two). A Tumblr was established, so was a Flickr account, and Bloglovin’ and StumbleUpon became a necessity.

C visited for a day a week ago. He wanted a new tattoo, so we spent our evening drawing with pens and needles. For some reason I managed to rub off the rabbit, so I had to draw it by hand. I like how it turned out.
Obviously, he’s a big Blink 182 fan!

The tattoo is on his right calf, is approximately 12,8 x 12,8 (18,2 was too big), needles 1203RL, 1205RL, 1208RL L were used (I know you care!). Colours to come.

The day C went back home I couldn’t help myself to make fun of him. I rubbed on one of those children’s tattoos on my arm that you get when buying bubblegum, and wrote “wink” (to wink, to blink, get it? …hm), and 281 (instead of 182, obviously). Well, at least I had fun!
